It’s time to celebrate a new holiday, which you know I love! The boys and I have a fun week planned filled with Easter activities that I know they are going to love!

This past weekend the boys were SO excited about Easter coming up that we did a “practice” Easter egg hunt in the yard- they loved it! It was a fun way to get outside and burn off some energy!

One of our friends gifted us a Gingerbread Easter House - which is so fun! I love that these are becoming activities for more than just Christmas! We plan to do the Gingerbread House together one night as a family - I know there will be more snacking than decorating, but that’s just part of the fun!

Of course, we plan to dye eggs this week, too! This is an activity that I grew up doing and always love to have the boys do with me! It’s so fun to see the boys be creative with what colors and designs they choose to put on their eggs!

I love writing cards + receiving cards! The boys and I are going to make Easter cards for our neighbors as a way to bring a smile to their faces this spring season!

I have been wanting to redo our laundry room for a couple of years now. This winter was finally the time to do it. We bought our house in Petoskey in 2016.
Each room has needed updating to fit our style and the appliances were all outdated. I love navy and white and black. I decided with navy cabinets, black hardware, a basic utility sink which will be wrapped in wood for a more finished look. White marbled hexagon tile I chose for the flooring with a dark gray grout. For a counter I went with a birch butcher block from Lowes. Super easy to install and looks so nice!
I love the wallpaper I went with. It's refreshing and the colors are calming. It's not finished completely yet, I will share photos when it is completed!

Since I've been having more time at home this winter and spring, I've been spending more time in the kitchen! This fall, I was gifted the Pioneer Woman's Cookbook and I have been really enjoying cooking out of it! Here is one of her recipes that I just tried, Pioneer Woman Meatloaf!

It takes just 20 minutes to prep and 1 hour and 10 minutes to cook. I love it when the prep time is that short! Gives me plenty of time to get the kitchen tidied up while it cooks or even time to play a family game!

  • 1 cup Whole Milk

  • Sauce:

    • 1+1/2 cups Ketchup

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
    • Add the bread to a large bowl and pour the milk on top of the slices. Let them soak for 5 minutes.
    • Add the remaining meatloaf ingredients and use your hands to combine. Try to ensure that the bread is sufficiently combined into the mixture, although try not to overmix as the ground beef will become tougher and lose some flavor.
    • Form the meat into a loaf, (about 5 inches wide), and place it over a broiler pan to allow the fat to drain. Lining the bottom of the broiler pan with foil will make for easier cleanup.
    • Line the bacon over the top of the loaf and carefully tuck the ends under the bottom. The bacon can be used to help support the shape of the loaf. I like to line them so that they are touching, but not overlapping so that you can easily slice in between each piece of bacon when it’s cooked.
    • Combine the sauce ingredients and brush 1/3 of it over the meatloaf.
    • Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes on the middle rack. Remove it from the oven and brush another 1/3 of the sauce over it. Bake for another 25 minutes.
    • Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes prior to slicing, letting it rest allows the juices to absorb back into the meat, cutting in too early will cause the juice to run out of the loaf.
    • Serve with the remaining sauce and enjoy! These are delicious with mashed potatoes + green beans!

If you don't have the Pioneer Women's Cookbook, you can purchase it here! or use the recipe found on The Cozy Cook, that shares this amazing meatloaf!

I’m still in that exciting new part of the year where I want to organize everything! I spent a lot of January going through the house and purging - out with the old!

Now that the old is gone and donated, I feel as if I can really focus on organizing what we do have! Here are some fun things I’ve found to help me organize those tricky spots in the house:

Spices: This spice rack goes directly inside your cabinet! I love things off the kitchen counters, so this spice rack is a win for me!

If you really want to get serious about organizing your spices, here is the perfect way to do that. All the containers and stickers are uniform.

Junk Drawers: Ugh! These are always SO hard to organize! Here are a few things that I’ve found that help me:

Drawer Organizer: I also found that buying this pack of $13 drawer organizers help! I spread them out around the house for the junk drawers, office drawers or anything else I need help organizing!

Cosmetic Organizer: If you have extra room in your bathroom, I found this amazing make up and cosmetic organizer! It has plenty of room to fit everything you use on a daily basis!

    Link: https://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Makeup-Cosmetic-Storage-Organizer-Multi-Function-Cosmetic-Cosmetics-Organizer/dp/B088CPWJLV/ref=sr_1_27?crid=38H3W82FHFP99&keywords=cosmetic+organizer&qid=1644854541&sprefix=cosmetic+organizer%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-27

I also like this one, because it is enclosed and can go in the cabinet, without me worrying about what will get on it!

Usually, if I have smaller cosmetics, I will then use some of those drawer organizers that I purchased for the junk drawer to help keep everything in it’s place!

Under the Sink: It is so hard to keep things tidy under the sink! I recently found this organizer that I like using for cleaners, extra toilet paper or whatever else gets thrown down there!

One last thing that I’m trying to use this new year is refrigerator organizer bins! Have you seen these before? It helps create SO much more room in the fridge! I also have been using them in the pantry - the boys know which bins to pull from for the perfect snack!

Have you been in organization mode this month? I’d love to hear what your tips and tricks are for organizing more!
