Another summer is in the books!
Our summer in northern Michigan on Mackinac Island started out cooler and more rain than usual. It finally felt like summer once August came around. That's when we also started to really accomplish our summer bucket list! As a family we visited Beaver Island overnight, stayed at Grand Hotel for one night (a dream come true for the boys!), and Andrew, my dad, Louie and Tommy camped on Round Island overnight. Those three big summer bucket list to-do's really made us not want to leave Mackinac and head back to school. Along with bike rides, walks, visits to the haunted theatre downtown, lunch at the Doghouse, pool time, slip n' slide in the backyard and more, it was a memorable summer for us.
In the shop, it was a steady flow of customers in the store this summer. It was not as crazy busy as last summer! We felt like we could remerchandise displays a little more easily and talk with customers more. I was fortunate to have an amazing team this year and I am missing the ones who have had to go back to school already. I can't believe we only have 6 more weeks left of the season! I hope to have a few pop-up's and book signings this fall yet. So come on over to Mackinac before the weather turns too cold. Our last day open for the 2022 season will be October 24th at 3pm. However, you can still shop online any day of the year!
