G’day Nicole, I’ve only just discovered your blog today and am looking forward to reading it. My fave blog of all time so far has been Susan Branch’s (I think you would absolutely love it just all cuteness and cups of tea and life in Martha’s Vineyard not to mention the adorable illustrations Susan paints…I promise I don’t work for Susan 🤭). I used to live in Novi, Michigan but as of a little over a year ago moved back home to Australia and am living in Brisbane. Anyway my sons and hubby and I absolutely loved Mackinac and I dearly wish I’d seen your store as I think I’d have likely spent an entire day there! I clicked on your link when I saw mention of Mackinac on Pinterest and knew it would be a lovely reminder of our 15 years living in the US. Two of our sons were born there and our eldest was born in the Outback town of Darwin here in Australia. I missed home and wanted our sons to experience my side of the world so we packed up and moved and we’re loving it. What I didn’t realise is just how much I truly loved so many things about the US (oh please someone move here and open a cider mill with a big barn and cinnamon donuts and apple cider and I’ll be ok). My fam and I took many holidays to the lake at Petosky and other towns around the lake and visited Mackinac a number of times. We even headed to Mackinac in the Winter not realising it would be mostly shut down when we stepped off the ferry but the giant floating icebergs in the water along the way and experiencing that dear island in a different season was just as memorable and I’m so glad we did that. What a wonderful blessing to get to live there on the island. If ever you take another trip Downunder we’ll have to grab a coffee and have a chin wag (chat)(I really mean tea 😄 I love it but my e-mail address likely gave that away). Well I am just so happy to have found another blog to read that will be a wonderful reminder of the other place I consider home and hold so dear in my heart.
Warmest regards
Melissa
