Today’s Monday Maker is about a Mackinac artist, Mackinac Memories & Peninsula Prints, a mother / daughter artistic team!
Jennifer and Natalia explore the island by bike and by foot, seeking inspiration wherever they can find it! They have created beautiful books, photography and prints from things they have seen on Mackinac Island and around Michigan!
The books, The Gardens of Mackinac Island and An Introduction to the Gardens of Mackinac Island by Jack Barnwell (who we featured on a Monday Maker here) feature the photography of Jennifer! We also sell their coloring book, Mindful Mackinac and the book, Triple the Fun (available at Little Luxuries) which features their illustrated work!
Natalia has beautiful block prints that we carry, from her business Peninsula Prints. Block printing dates back hundreds of years and is truly amazing art! First she draws the image, then carves it out and then prints the image. To see more about block printing, visit her website here.
