December is filled with traditions for many of us. It's what we have to look forward to and cherish for years to come. I love family traditions! It brings so much joy and festive spirit!
A few of our holiday traditions are decorating a gingerbread house together. The boys are always so eager to start on this fun family project! We never know if the house will stay standing or not! HA!
I do not bake a ton, but when I do they love to help! I hate having too many sweets around the house as to why I do not spend too much time in the kitchen baking when I will end up eating most of it! We all enjoy eating and making Holly Wreaths which is a cornflake marshmallow treat. We do one batch of Christmas sugar cookies and on Christmas morning I make homemade crepes which they LOVE!
We normally ring the holiday season in on Mackinac during the Christmas Bazaar weekend. There's nothing like being on Mackinac Island in the winter with snow and lots of Christmas spirit.
We always make a trip to visit Santa and get photos with him. You have to see the big guy each December!
Lastly, we celebrate Christmas the weekend before Christmas day in St. Johns with my family. My parents always make the family gathering extra special for us. My mom makes way too much food, sweets and has everything decorated perfectly. The boys love this time with cousins and family.
We have more family traditions, but these are the tried and true ones that made the list first. :)
I hope your able to make this month special by being with family and friends near or far and taking this time to just stop and spend time together.
Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas.
