Best Memories from 2024

Posted by Nicole Doud on

I think it's important to reflect on the year before it comes to an end and we welcome in 2025. Whether it was a great year or not your best year, it's still good to reflect.

A few of my favorite moments from 2024 at the shop are listed below:

  • We started the season off by changing a few things up in the shop that made a big difference! Some paint and a few new displays made the store a little brighter this year.

  • Lilac Festival kicks off our 'busy' season and this past year we had the best events and we had a blast all week long! We are looking forward to celebrating Lilac Festival again in 2025!

  • One of my favorite parts of being a business owner is creating team outings to help build relationships and team work. We do a team outing once a month and they always a highlight for everyone!

  • We saw some of the best Northern Lights this summer than we ever have!

  • We said good bye to an amazing young woman, Cybella. She worked at Little Luxuries for four seasons and she finally found her dream job with Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. We miss her so much, but she is loving life, traveling and adventuring!
  • I finally had a custom candle scent made for us and it was named Chai Latte - my favorite morning drink! It smells amazing and available in a candle and room spray!
  • The Albion College volleyball team and the Alma College volleyball team played on Mackinac Island in August and we were proud sponsors. We donated our cute Little Luxuries' tote bags for the special game. As an Albion alum, this was so fun to do for them.
We ended the season by dressing up as Care Bears! It was a fun costume and easy! Halloween weekend on Mackinac is one of our favorites!

Thank YOU for being here now and through the years. As I enter year seventeen I think of all of you who are reading this blog and reading our facebook and instagram posts and visiting the store each season. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.

Warmly,

Nicole
