Fall on Mackinac Island

Posted by Nicole Doud on

Fall on Mackinac Island is absolutely magical. There's something special about visiting when the summer crowds have faded and the island reveals a quieter escape. The days grow cooler, and that crisp morning air becomes your constant companion as you explore the charming streets and hidden corners of Mackinac Island.

You'll find yourself wanting to truly savor every moment. The island's natural beauty shines through - peaceful walks and the simple pleasure of enjoying the island at your own pace.

Don't forget about the foliage of fall on Mackinac. As the leaves begin their dramatic transformation, the island becomes a canvas of brilliant golds, fiery reds, and deep oranges.  Whether you're taking a carriage ride through town, biking along the quiet paths, or simply strolling the streets, you're surrounded by nature's most spectacular show.

If you've only visited Mackinac in the peak summer season, fall should be on your list. It's the perfect time to rediscover why this island captures hearts year after year.

If you make plans to come to Mackinac during the fall, here are a few of our favorite stops to make!

Lucky Bean: If you are going to walk along the streets shopping, grab a warm drink!

Watercolor Cafe: You can't miss stopping here. Breakfast and lunch are fantastic. It's a place to sit and stay a while, letting your creativity flourish.

Patrick Doud's Irish Pub: I recently stopped in for Musical Bingo. If you're on Mackinac on a Sunday, make sure you stop in. It was so fun!

Little Luxuries: Obviously you should stop in and shop! We have a few fun events this fall, plus so many cute fall + Christmas goodies in the store.

Fall Sip n' Sail: Watch a beautiful fall sunset from the Straits of Mackinac! It's a wonderful way to experience the island in a fun and new way.

Doud's Market: Stop here for a snack and all your little island necessities! They have a fantastic selection of apples and apple cider from Friske's Apple Orchard this fall.
