Back to School Recipes

Posted by Nicole Doud on

I recently read about how Naptime Kitchen feeds her kids their favorite meals during the first week back to school! That first week of getting back into routines is tricky enough - so why not feed them nutritious meals that are also their favorite comfort food recipes!
Here are a few comfort food recipes / snacks that I am saving for our first week back to school!
I shared this one last year on the blog, but it is still definitely a favorite in our house! Chicken + Avocado Tacos with Creamy Cilantro Sauce.
It’s quick, easy and SO delicious!

A recipe that I have shared often (because we LOVE it so much!) are my mom’s blueberry muffins! They are the perfect comfort food and delicious for any time of the day! I love to add them to the boy’s breakfast spread or pack one in their lunches as a special treat! Here is the recipe:

The orange juice adds an unexpected twist, but I think you’ll love it!

Another dinner that is on the menu this week is Andrew’s favorite dinner - Ranch Cheddar Chicken from Damn Delicious! It’s a quick and easy dinner (which we all need)!

One of the boy’s favorite after school snacks last year was ants on a log! I was able to get creative and add some apples, blueberries, peanut butter, cream cheese and really whatever would fit on a celery stick to make them fun critters! I got the idea from Good Housekeeping here: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/food-recipes/healthy/a44177/critter-crudites/

Of course, we'll add pizza night to Friday night to celebrate a week of success!

I’m always looking for new recipes and easy after school snacks! What are some of your favorite easy snacks and dinner recipes to incorporate into your routine?
