Today’s Monday Maker is about a local favorite, Mary Lou Peters! Mary Lou lives, paints and teaches in her home on the Straits of Mackinac.
One of Mary Lou’s favorite places to paint is right here on Mackinac Island. She has worked to develop her own distinctive style - a whimsical approach to common themes. The hope is that her paintings leave you feeling happy and wishing you were in the place that she painted! Most of Mary Lou’s work that we carry is at The Artists Market, but a few of her magnets are sold at Little Luxuries!
In addition to painting she is the author of four books and has illustrated three books. Mary Lou also teaches painting classes in Mackinac City, on Mackinac Island and in Sanibel Island, Florida.
