We spend the holidays on Mackinac. Our kids love being here for Christmas and to ring in the New Year and Andrew and I do too. I reopen my shop and we get a few tourists visiting for the holidays. When there's snow the island is bursting with joy! Locals can move around the island easier by snowmobile, workers can get more accomplished by getting to and from work faster or being able to run errands quicker, and it's so beautiful! The best sledding is at Turtle Park. We took the boys the other day and it was a blast! The cross country ski trails are amazing and just taking a snowmobile ride is fun!
The slow pace here on Mackinac during the holidays makes it the best place to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. Good ole' family time and opening the store up for locals and tourists also makes it a great way end the year.
Santa gave me an air fryer for Christmas. I have tested it out and it is amazing! I love trying new recipes over the holidays. The air fryer takes cooking to the next level! Ha!
I hope you are able to rest this week and tidy up your home before we ring in the new year! It is an awesome feeling to be refreshed and have a mindset of healthy habits as we enter a new year.
