Blackberry Cottage, Waco, TX

Posted by Nicole Doud on

I am still thinking about my quick trip to Waco, Texas! My traveling partner and 'do-it-all' assistant, Emily, tagged along too. We stayed at the cutest little cottage, Blackberry Cottage. Just ten minutes outside of downtown Waco.

If you are planning a trip to Waco to check out the town or just to see Magnolia, I highly recommend Blackberry Cottage. It's a nice escape from 'city life' and you really feel like you are in Texas! Doug and Donna, our hosts, were amazing. Upon arrival, we had a sweet note and sandwiches waiting for us on the table. When we arrived back 'home' the next day, there were two treats waiting for us. Such a sweet surprise after an adventurous day in Waco!

There is no TV, but that was fine for us. We were out exploring for 12 hours a day and when we got back to the cottage, peace and quiet was exactly what we needed.

Yes, there are even chickens on the property! It was so nice to experience that 'farm life environment' in Texas.

Doug and Donna paid close attention to the details, which I love! The cottage is located just down the road from Homestead Heritage, a Christian community with an awesome cafe, market, artist market and more! You definitely will want to spend a few hours or half a day checking out this unique village. The cottage has handcrafted soap, dishes and hot cocoa from the Homestead Heritage Market.

Blackberry Cottage was so good to us! I would love to go back again when it is warmer and stay an extra day longer!
