I am small-town girl who loves anything country and enjoys a little bit of city life every now and then. I am easily inspired and I love what I do. I live on beautiful Mackinac Island, MI year-round with my husband, two sweet boys, and two dogs. I love the little island we live on, it’s beauty and I am so grateful to call Mackinac Island ‘home’.

On my blog, I share about new goodies in the shop, shop news, island life and anything else that inspires me. Thank you for following along!

Artist of the Week: Genesis One Designs

Terra Baum, the creator of Genesis One Designs, started her business in 2003.  She creates handcrafted jewelry and gifts that are designed to inspire!  And even better than that, she is a local Michigan artist that makes all of her jewelry in W. Michigan.
When Terra started her business she was just creating jewelry for herself that was affordable but still beautiful.  As her friends and family started to see her wearing the handmade, gorgeous jewelry, many requests for necklaces, bracelets and earrings started to come in.  Soon enough she was getting requests from complete strangers, and then she was hooked!
As her unexpected business was blossoming, she was beginning to create more meaningful and personalized pieces for her customers.  Terra was even commissioned (by a cast member’s mom) to create 150 key chains for the cast and crew of the television show “Parenthood”.  Although, her favorite moments are the more personal ones when she can see grieving mothers get emotional when they see their child’s life verse on a necklace or bracelet.  Terra said, “I love when something I have made makes someone else’s heart happy.”
Come into the Artists Market to look at a big selection of Genesis One Designs and to see why her jewelry pieces are becoming so popular! We love handmade and it makes us so happy sharing our artists' work with our customers.
