Little Luxuries
We are excited to welcome new products to Little Luxuries for the 2019 season! This week, we are letting you in on a few new product lines that will be in the store this season.
Beekman 1802
Beekman 1802 is located in Sharon Springs, NY. This lifestyle brand has become nationally known and grew faster than Josh Kilmer-Purcell and his parter Brent Ridge could have ever imagined. They learned to run their farm, making artisan goods and now are known all over the world. We will be carrying a variety of their beauty and body products this summer. If you have never tried the products before, we highly recommend you do. The large soap bars are wonderful!
Pieces of Me
Pieces of Me is a jewelry lifestyle brand “Celebrating Strong, Beautiful Women, One Piece of Jewelry at a Time.” Pieces of Me was founded to help women find their feeling of value and true freedom. We know that you will love the jewelry we are carrying from their line AND it's a Michigan maker!
Bee's Wrap
Bee’s Wrap was started as a more sustainable way for food storage in 2012. Created from organic cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil and tree resin, Bee’s Wrap has created a sustainable and reusable plastic wrap.
Dave's Sweet Tooth
Dave’s Sweet Tooth is an old fashioned (no machines, microwaves or assembly lines!) company creating an incredible toffee experience. We will be carrying their tasty sweet treats for you to tote around on the island when you are in need of an afternoon snack. They melt in your mouth and are SO good!
June & December
June & December is a Michigan based company creating goods for home and life. They want all of their products to invoke memories and stories of day to day life, that can create meaningful conversations. Their products that we carry will remind you of special memories and hopefully help you create a few new memories, as well.  We have carried the line for a few years now and each year they come out with new items and beautiful new designs. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Boogie Toes
Boogie Toes will be a new parents favorite purchase! Created with anti-slip bottoms and filled with cute rattles on the toes, these socks will keep baby occupied and also safe when walking!
Our Opening Celebration is Friday, April 26th from 10 AM - 6 PM. We hope to see you there for the festivities and to check out our new products!

Last week we hopped in the car and drove to Nashville for a mini family trip before our busy season begins. My best friend and her sweet family live in East Nashville. I had to make a second visit to one of my favorite shops, White's Mercantile owned by an inspirational woman, Holly Audrey Williams.
Louie, my 4 year-old son, wanted to join me inside White's Mercantile. He even took the photo of me above! He did a pretty good job!
The baby section - had just enough to find a sweet baby gift.
I loved the tall book shelf style displays and the long old farmhouse tables. It's a one-stop shop.
In August 2017, Audrey opened another location of White's Mercantile in Leiper's Fork TN. This tiny little shop is only 150 square feet in an old smokehouse. It was really neat to step inside this historic building and tour the village town of Leiper's Fork.
I love how 'local' Nashville is and has become. I can't wait til my next visit.

Last Thursday I traveled to Cleveland, OH with two of my employees, Emily and Lexy for a wholesale gift show, Niche Fair. I saved this show for The Artists Market of Mackinac Island. I knew I would find unique makers at this particular show. I was right, Niche Fair was an awesome experience! I am so glad I made the long trip.
With only 75 vendors, it was easy to walk through, no lines and you felt at home. The vendors were personable and it was great to see some of my current makers in person and new products for the new year.
Niche Fair is about being authentic. It is a brand new show created for buyers, like me, who want something different. Stephanie Jones, the curator {pictured with me below}, is amazing! Her and her team covered all the details and made this a great opportunity for young makers in the wholesale business and for retailers like myself. I am very lucky to have connected with Stephanie!
All American Canning Co. is one of my current vendors at Little Luxuries of Mackinac. How fun is their label and jam flavors?! The strawberry shortcake preserve is my favorite! Look for new flavors this spring in our shop!
Of course, we have to make some time for some fun too! Lexy, Emily and myself make a great team. We are SO excited to bring on the new season! Niche Fair was definitely a great way to start off the season!
Cleveland is a fun, clean city from what we saw. We stayed at the Westin right downtown and only had time to have lunch at Coastal Taco {it was very good!}near the river.
Thank you Cleveland and thank you Niche Fair!

I am still thinking about my quick trip to Waco, Texas! My traveling partner and 'do-it-all' assistant, Emily, tagged along too. We stayed at the cutest little cottage, Blackberry Cottage. Just ten minutes outside of downtown Waco.

If you are planning a trip to Waco to check out the town or just to see Magnolia, I highly recommend Blackberry Cottage. It's a nice escape from 'city life' and you really feel like you are in Texas! Doug and Donna, our hosts, were amazing. Upon arrival, we had a sweet note and sandwiches waiting for us on the table. When we arrived back 'home' the next day, there were two treats waiting for us. Such a sweet surprise after an adventurous day in Waco!

There is no TV, but that was fine for us. We were out exploring for 12 hours a day and when we got back to the cottage, peace and quiet was exactly what we needed.

Yes, there are even chickens on the property! It was so nice to experience that 'farm life environment' in Texas.

Doug and Donna paid close attention to the details, which I love! The cottage is located just down the road from Homestead Heritage, a Christian community with an awesome cafe, market, artist market and more! You definitely will want to spend a few hours or half a day checking out this unique village. The cottage has handcrafted soap, dishes and hot cocoa from the Homestead Heritage Market.

Blackberry Cottage was so good to us! I would love to go back again when it is warmer and stay an extra day longer!
