In honor of Mother’s Day tomorrow I thought I would share a photo of my mom and I. This was taken last summer during our family photo shoot by Andrejka Photography. Wish I could be spending the day with my mom, but instead, we will be doing a fun event in the shop {Pick A Posy}! The concept of Handbags of Hope is simple: women that run in the middle of the night to escape often take themselves and their children, nothing else. A woman’s handbag is a very important personal possession. Handbags, new or gently used, are taken to Domestic Violence shelters across the state to help victims. We hope you are able to give a new or gently used bag AND/OR items to fill the bag such as cosmetic items and anything a woman needs in her purse. This Saturday and Sunday, our last weekend open, we are taking bags and delivering them to the Handbags of Hope location where they will then be delivered to shelters of Dometic Violence. Looking for something to do this evening in the Petoskey area? We have an event for you! The newest vintage art and design boutique downtown Petoskey, MI is turning heads and bringing back all of that lovely fashion women loved years ago. Us women, love it again! Big Girls in Tights is that special kind of store you have to spend more than ten minutes inside looking around. You never know what you might bring home with you. They have vintage jewelry, purses, scarves, fur coats, dresses, things for little girls, shoes, a mix of vintage inspired jewelry, and so much more. They recently moved locations to the Perry Hotel downtown Petoskey. I have yet to see the new space, but I am sure it is beyond fabulous! Tonight stop by their new location for a fun event for a good cause. Char-Em United Way has created an Instant Wine Cellar Event hosted by Big Girls in Tights. Bring a bottle of wine, 6-pack of beer or $15. There will be a raffle and someone will take home all of the wine! There will be music and food. What a fun thing to do on a Friday evening.
